In the presence of Fons Smolders (municipality of Best), Veronique Zeeman (alderman of the municipality of Best), Ruby Haring (Korein), Willem Kock (director of the Best Education Foundation), Rosita Steltenpool (SteltenpoolABC), Niels Peters (SORS architects), Wouter van Erp and Ted van Schijndel (van der Horst contractors), Regé van Duijnhoven (BCC Bouwmanagement), Harald Verhoeven (Gabriëls Elektro), Jarno Verstraten (Van Haren Installations), Linda van den Helm and Anka van Lieshout (Beste Onderwijs) and clearly the people from the press, Marieke Snoeks (future director) unmasked the construction sign on July 4, 2023 with the resulting new name and the confusing logo of the new Child Center to be built in the Aarlesche Erven district.

“We are building Op ’t Erf!, a new building for childcare and education. A great place where 0 to 13-year-olds can develop into ‘world wisers’.” Says Marieke. “We will start here at the beginning of 2025. The new building will be filled immediately with new children and children who will move from De Heydonck Heivelden to this location. The range of services we will be offering here is therefore very much in line with the out-of-school education that we are already used to at De Heydonck. Only here the building is also fully designed for this range of services. No traditional classrooms, but multiple rooms with unique ‘labs’. In addition, each room has a veranda, so that indoor and special education is always possible. At ’t Erf we are creating a great learning environment in which every child is given optimal opportunities to develop themselves and grow together with others into world wiser.”
